True, but irrelevant. M6 Toll is owned and run by the Midland Expressway company.

In rush hour? Yes, any other time it's not worth the cash.
Good for top speed runs though .

Yeah it pretty steep really.
When coming home from work, i have to cross it about a mile from where it meets the M6 north. Always brings a smile to my face when all the people who've payed are sitting in tailbacks .

Not that I've seen, but the traffic cops operate on there. I'm not sure if they can do you for the same offences as normal roads but I seem to remember they treat speeding etc as dangerous driving in a public place - ie the same way you'd be done if you were arsing around in a supermarket car park.

I think they operate, but they have a "chief Wiggam" approach . Been down there numerous times, and have never seen a marked car on there, I think in some ways part of the attraction to people is that it's a fast open stretch of motorway, hence they make more money by overlooking speeding .

The people that work in the toll booths must cringe when they hear a loud car pull up, it's guaranteed they'll treat it like a 1/4 mile start on the exit

i use it when comin up and down from essex to scotland. well worth it especially through the night as there is barely any cars at all so you can get flat out all the way.

The M6 toll was interesting to say the least in the M3 coming back from Manchester at 1pm.
Think yourselves lucky it's the only toll road (pretty much) in the country AND is optional. There are hundreds in Italy & France, imagine having to pay all the time when you want to go anywhere.
I'd much prefer to pay road tax in one lump, than keep having change on me for tolls.

makes me laugh, how come disabled people don't have to pay.....just cos they can't fuckin walk or whatever doesn't mean they can't pay.
