They have a bit of a reputation for being a bit....um...well, stupid
Whats the earliest anyones upgraded? I've done it after about 8-9 months on a few occasions & it was fairly easy to blag
That was on a £40ish tariff
Now Im on O2 max (usually £75 a month - I get it for 1/2 of that)
Didn't they used to have a policy where you can upgrade after 6 months if your on a high tariff? Anyone who works for them know about this?

I'm 7 months into an 18 month contract I want out of it cos its pish.
Its a cashback deal though so i'm scared if I change the tariff i won't get the cashback.
Getting out of it alltogether would do the job though.

You can always keep your number, even if switching from provider to provider.
You can't cancel your contract until the 18 months is up BUT you can reduce your monthly outgoing etc, just not cancel it all together.

I believe you can cancel your contract, you just have to pay the remaining months line rental. That's what I use to do anyway, lower my tariff to the lowest one and then cancel.

Speak to the retentions people rather than the upgrade department - they are the people who want you to stay and have more options avaliable to you.

Will this work even if you're on PAYG?

No it wont Deano
Carl, there isn't a better all rounder out at the moment.
N95 is the one that most people suggest but its carrying a price tag & its hard to blag a good deal
Maybe just see what they can do on a silver K800? I really like the silver version
I've not tried calling them yet, going to have to wait untill the 22 May

I think i'm going to wait a bit until the n95 is a bit older then, i like to have a different phone every year, only on a 22 quid a month contract too so not got that much leverage to barter with, i'm sure retention will know that it is hard to get a better deal from elsewhere which isn't going to help.

On the o2 website, do get the N95 for free, you needed a £50 month contract or something stupid.
Again, according to the website.
£25 tariff = £199.99
£35 tariff = £89.99
£50 tariff = £Freeeeee

I had to pay 80 ish last time but they knocked so much off a month off my bill so it equated to 50 iirc, only on a 20 quid tarif though 500 mins and texts free, so not sure how i'm going to say i've found a better deal! What are the other operators doing as a package on the n95?

Carl, its free on T-mobile flext 50. Just tell them that your mate works for them & he can add you as a "friends & family member" (gets you 50% off)
Thats £25 a month & a free phone
Or, its about £80 for the phone on flext 35 (so that would be £17.50)
A lass I work with has been told if she pays £80 she can have a N95. Her line rental is £17.50 a month

PS
If they say they can't do it or if they offer you less, ask for your PAC code. If you don't use it then it'll not alter anyhing on your contract. Sometimes this makes them think you really are about to leave & they do you lots
Thats how I got my 8800 free after 8 months of my contract
If its not in stock get the dates. Make up that your going away & that you can wait till you get back.
Blagging O2 is fun
