Apologies if this is a repost. I know there's a lot of us have these TV's, probably all of you knowing a lot more than I do about AV technical stuff.
But after reading this thread on AV Forums I've found a lot of these TV's (including mine!) are fitted with inferior CMO panels instead of the S-PVA panels they're supposed to have!

http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=458910

There are others threads linked from that one to similar situations.
It's one of those things I wish I'd just never read as now I don't know wether to be very annoyed by finding this out, or just accept it? /

What are your views on this?

How do you tell? I read a few pages but could'nt see anything clear cut. Is it a problem anyway? Mine seems fine whatever panel is in it.

I have checked mine, it isnt the S-PVA panel but is the AUO_AMVA panel, i think. As i bought mine lasy May, i dont have any of the stickers other people do. I have posted on there for someone to confirm. Im not sure what il do if it is wrong, if they offer a swap, il pay more and get the 40", as all of these have S-PVA panels.

Would you have ever been able to tell the difference if it wasn't pointed out?

Would you be able to tell the difference now it has been pointed out?

Apparantly there is a huge difference between the panels. Mine was advertised with a SPVA panel, so i want a SPVA panel.

You have the AUO panel, which I've seen on here is almost as good, or in some opinions, better that the S-PVA one.

Am I the only unlucky one with a CMO panel then?
Gonna phone Samsung and 1stAudioVisual during the week to see what can be done about this, although I read Samsung are fobbing everyone off with the same replies.

Where abouts in the menu did you check which one it is?!

Do this:

Turn TV onto standby
Press "info"
Press "menu"
Press "mute"
Then turn TV back on

But which part of the menu is it?!

Is it just the 32" ones that are the problem?

Parents 40" one is fine and so is my 26"

Yeah I suppose I did buy mine when the prices of them crashed and Samsung didn't have the supply to meet the demand for them.
I'm not as bothered by it now anyway, it's actually fine to watch. I think it was just an initial state of paranoia and stuff. And it gives me a reason to upgrade to a bigger and better 1080p screen next year too!
