Still got this problem on CS, I log on and every thread is green meaning I've not read it.
If I read one, navigate back then it will show as read, if I then close down IE and return back to the same forum it will be showing as unread even if there have been no new posts.
I've put up with it for a while but it's beginning to grip my shit now - any ideas?
I use a genuine version of XP, SP2 and all updated, medium/high security setting in IE - all the usual kind of stuff really.
I guess it's cookie related but since I know fack all about them I thought I'd ask here

Sounds like it can't set the cookie when you leave, can you temporarily lower the cookie security and try again?

Just stay on CS though so you're not compromising anything elsewhere.

Might have sorted it - in IE options there is a setting for "Check for newer versions of stored pages" - I had this set to "Automatic", I have just set it to "Every time I visit the webpage"

Fingers crossed it's sorted, I've viewed a few threads, closed and reopend IE and it seems ok but time will tell I guess...

EDIT: Nope, they are all back and marked as unread

Delete all cookies, temporary internet files and clear the history.

Try again

I have this on CS too, but I don't think I get it on other forums?

Cleared all my history and cookies etc
Now on the main forum page there are a few sections showing unread threads - I go into them and all threads are shown as read - hmmm
I goto a section that is showing all threads as being read and again, all threads are marked as read but in a lot of the topics there have been posts (as can be told by the timestamps)

Sucks to be me.
