I've been informed that it's possible to find out if the Astra I'm looking at buying has had a fairly urgent alteration done under a recall by contacting Vauxhall and giving them the chassis number (which I have) - but I'm not sure who to ring!
My local dealer? Their service desk? Parts department?
Vauxhall HQ?
Anyone here work at a Vaux dealer and able to advise and/or help?

They took the vin plate and reg from me, ran a check and no recalls were ever needed for that paticular car - doesn't mean to say that the cam chain oil jet hasn't been changed for the uprated larger one though - only ones with certain part numbers were done (one's with smaller ones) so in essence it appears the one I should be buying tomorrow has had one of the bigger ones all along
