plus i need to organise my music a bit better
at the moment its split into full albums and singles, then 25 sub sections per each
plays fine if u use windows explorer, then right click on a folder and select play in winamp
because I have folders with 100s of songs taken from 100s of albums it does not work well in iTunes as it lists them all by album alphabetically
could sort by genre, but each mp3 is slightly different or the info is incomplete
ideas?

This does batch editing.
Not sure if it's what you wanted. I used it to create track tags for about 400 songs in one go.

no - becuase I have tried it, and it sorted everything by album
i have 100s of tracks from 100s of albums (not full albums) and it sorted them by album, with 1 track showing per album, which was crap
i want it to display them by the folder they are in, for example my speed garage singles folder has 200 singles in, i want them grouping together
plus a lot of albums dont have track names, just the name on the folder in windows explorer

that software is amazing - but can it change the file names to represent the fields in the artist/title?

erm not sure, I've not used it much but I can only guess that the filename is not part of an ID3 tag. ID3 tags are usually the file properties as such. Not sure if another program would be needed.

This might do it:
http://jj.consti.de/jjsoftware/uk/mp3renamer.html
Convert tool: ID3 tag to file name uses the ID3 tag to rename the file name.
