make sure no apps are running in the background (hold down the menu key)
Turn wireless scanning to never,
also go to tools > settings > connections > WLAN (options Advanced settings)
Then select power saving to disabled, and TX power lever lower, also set auto config to disabled.

With all that done, how long would you say your battery lasts?
I left it on charge all night last night, unplugged it and left for work at 7am, the phone was dead by the time I posted this thread
It's an absolutely ace phone, but i'm still in the 7day cooling off period and considering sending it back.

Mine lasts 2 days average with normal use. That with bluetooth left on 24/7 so my handsfree kit in the car connects on its own. Are you playing with it non stop?

Well, today I've been listening to my tunes on and off, and pretty much been connected to Messenger all morning.
S'pose it's that what's done it, but 5hrs battery life?! Wank.
I used to listen to my tunes all day for a week on my W800i before it needed charging.

Mine last 2 days just about, with a fair amount of txting and calls, i think it sounds like your battery is crap , there was a thread on 3g.co.uk about dodgy batteris in N95s. Id send it back , get a fresh one.

The other thing today was...
The battery was still registering as full (i.e. full bars on the screen). I made one phone call for 5mins, hung up, then it said "battery low"
I'll give orange customer service a ring, i'm sure they'll be more than helpful with me still being within my 7days to cancel

Remember WiFi does rape the battery, best doing what Nismo said above...
also go to tools > settings > connections > WLAN (options Advanced settings)
Then select power saving to disabled, and TX power lever lower

Also, on the phone the woman told me that Orange state that the phone has 14hrs standby time
Where as Nokia say 24hrs apparantly.
Still both wank
Top phones tho

Well the woman from Orange was very wrong then, altho I find 215hrs (9days almost) very laughable.

Next question...
How "reliable" is PC Suite?
I'm getting that new N95 tomorrow so i've backed up my phone. I'll be able to just restore all the contacts etc onto the new one tomorrow, right?

New one's just come!
Well chuffed. On my previous one the slider was slightly wobbly, but I put this down to the design of the phone and thought i'd have to accept that.
Well, this one is totally firm, no rattles or wobbles
....just hope the battery does a better job

Seems like you know what i'm referring to lol
My old one did, but this one has none at all Feels proper secure and solid where as the wobble on the other made it feel flimsy, especially when texting.
