This car is an absolute nightmare, a non sellable money pit
Its always held back sometimes when you go to pull off (all the way off the clutch and just hovers at the same revs for a second, then pulls away fine), rarely before and thought nothing of it. Recently, its started doing it randomly when accelorating.
Then, today, overtaking a truck on the A30, i out me foot down in 4th (60ish, 3.5-4k rpm) and not much happened, it held back, and for a breif minute, the ECU light came on. Then, it seemed to sort itself, and it moved forwards again.
I need to know whats wrong, its annoying me, its due an MOT and ive had enough of the car.
Its a Corsa B with an X12XE, 53k, just had a service, exhaust (cat back) and front disk/pad change - if it makes any difference.
Any help?
TIA

Try the paperclip test to find out why the light keeps coming on. The one in my car keeps coming on too but so far its not affected anything.

The EML has never come on since I've owned it and if the AFM is most common for this, I'd say it's that that is on its way it.
Won't know until I try, and saves wasting over £200 that Vaux would charge.
EDIT: On a 12v btw.

It cost me £150 for a AFM plus fitting at a local garage. Mines only 4 months old and I still get that bloody light coming on every now and then.
You're lucky deano!

Could be the Lamba sensor as to why mine comes on since that ain't been replaced in the 4 years we've had the car but I seriously need new tyres so they'll come 1st and god knows when I'll be able to afford them
Reset the ECU and its still coming on

Been out again in it tonight, and its still happening, seems to be when i accelorate to higher speeds (ie 60+) in hugher gears (4th and 5th). The light only comes on for a fewseconds (5 or 6 at the most) at a time, enough to store a fault?

Mine doesn't do it at such high speeds, more when I pull off after idling for a while.
Hopefully it'll be as easy as the AFM.

POW... ive got an engine thats now out of a car because of the problems you described.
Can you do something for me.... unplug your Lambda sensor on the exhaust manifold... and take the car out for a drive and tell me if it happens?? (The ECU light will be on by the way)

There will be one sensor in this area...
Follow the cable from it to the 4/5 pin plug ( its quite large)
And from experience... there would be no fault code stored at all mate. I had mine read on Tech2 after mine did the same as yours...... and there was nothing.
