Today I made a start on refurbing my alloy. This had the most curbing out of the 5 that I have.
I rubbed it down using a small hand sander and a 150 grit disk.
I then went about fillering the curb marks from the alloy face and lip.
I used the 150 grit disk to rub the filler down. By simply rubbing the paper together it gave off about a 3-400 grit.
After rubbing the filler down I started to spray some primer. This then highlighted some pinholes which I missed so a quick dab of red putty soon sorted this.
Here is the wheel in its current state. Will update when I start to lay some color

Did you use etch primer first? Then over coat it with normal grey primer. I made the mistake of not doing this, because it's alloy, the paint didn't take the the metal and ending up looking crap after a couple of months
