right then i went to work today parked up, got out, and locked my door (remote central locking). when it came to unlocking the door i pressed the button but nothing happend its also got delocked handles and a smooth boot to add to the problem. any help is much appreciated

Remove the rubber below the window at the top of the door and use a metal coat hanger with a hook like bend. Or just bend the door out at the top, slide your arm down in and open the door and bend it back in again.

mk1 brick and replace the window. the average house one will surfice

tried the coat hanger thing but its got delocked handles so theres no rod to pull up cheers anyway mate

if you dont feel that brave try and pop the bonnet by pulling the cable under the slam pannel. sometimes its a pig to get to but need to find out if you have 12v in the battry

should still be able to access the locking mech with the coat hanger, thats how i popped mine. alternatively your windscreen is normally covered by insurance!

Yeah, glass is probably the best way. £80 excess, and doesn't affect your NCB.
If you have deadlocks however, you still won't be able to open the door from the inside.
