If by chance one happens to end up in my GSI i just want to know what they are like to look after are they as simple as a XE or do they require a lot more maintanence on a weekly basis?

No daft answers and this is just a maybe option. Meant to be saving for a house but i think a let would be nice for Trax then start saving for a house

More parts to go wrong.

But if looked after, just as good as the XE. Expect sensors and wires to give possible issues due to age and corrosion.

Some turbos may be giving up the go now with higher miles.

As long as its warmed up, warmed down, and oil is regulary changed, shouldn't have any issues.

I would say save for the house though. Don't get enough track time at trax and its pretty expensive. And if its a track toy corsa, then jsut go for the 2.0. Much better for track action.

It will be well looked after as will my car. I know about warming it up and warming it down so thats not an issue.

Not to fussed about going on the track at Trax just mainly to show. Just would like it as a road toy

Its quicker by far than an XE, and very quick on a motorway, but if your looking to actually drive the car hard, its not the best engine for the corsa (IMO).

great fun, get a good engine and a good place to fit it (your last one looked like a tidy conversion when I saw it) then it will be fine.

Just would like the fun factor thats mainly what i want. Will be using the same place as i did last time without a doubt. They are spot on.

I would of thought there was a big difference, tbh.

Huge difference.

My XE feels flat and bland from 4th to 5th. (F20), DOnnas just carries on and on and on, any gear, any revs, it'll pull.

I keep up from 1st to 2nd, then after that, adios.... Till a corner or braking area comes up

F28, I wouldn't trust a LET with F20. I've seen far too many blow up (even some who blagged on saying it wouldn't blow, yadder blah ).

Its more expensive, you need to change the speedo ring inside the box, also convert to 2WD, and its about £300 for a box, but it has 6 gears. All of them will last, unlike an F20.

You can scrimp, but with a 200+bhp per tonne conversion, your money, your life in your hands... I wouldn't cut ANY corners with a LET conversion.

If i do convert to LET power then no corners and no expenses spared. May as well get the job done first time rather than after you've blown the engine IMO anyway.

Yes will be everyday car if i get it done.

i used mine everday, had an f20 at 1st, it was on its last legs before i changed it.. F28 is such a nice gearbox especially for motorway cruising

i travelled about 50miles a day that was just for work and then i was always out and about... main problems i had was snapping mounts and using loadsa petrol

was the most fun car ive ever owned/driven

Great fun, i would never use one as a everyday car again though. Too much to break and its horrible when you just want to drive chilled out.
Stupidly quick though!
Heres a video of my old one
