Heating probably looking at about £3k -
Decent combi - £1000
5/6 Radiators - £500
Associated fittings/pipework etc (get copper no plastic shite) - £500
Fitting/mark up - £1000
Windows - How many? Feck knows tbh - possibly looking at about £3-4k, someone in Scottish Region has a double glazing company - ask if he covers Aberdeen

I can prob do all the fitting of rads's running pipes etc myself... and just leave the boiler fitting/connecting to a corgi mofo actually :/

Yeah theres nothing much to it tbh, just make sure the radiators you buy are big enough (big enough heat output) to heat the room (you can get a heating calculator to work those out) & the combi had the ability to meet the heat requirements, both central heating & hotwater...also shower to be taken into account if your having a thermostatic one fitted. I gather you can get a shot of the pipe benders because there the only pricy tool required, that said you can hire them out for a couple quid a day.
Boilers are best left to the pro's although ive had mine apart a few tims, fitted new pump, safety valve etc. Helped a plumber mate fit a new boiler to a mates house aswell. Made a nice 4" hole in the wall for the flue to go out only to be told it was going out the other wall oops

Infact the place your buying the radiators from will work it out for you, just work out, room length/width, floor to ceiling height, floor construction, number of outside walls in the room.

Nup not really, only if your an OAP they pay for the lot for you - Full central heating kit, cavity/wall insulation etc. Didnt think there were any grants for the average hardworker.

Apparently Aberdeen Council does do grants for normal people....a couple of my sister's friends have received them...
Windows....quite big ones....
Bay window in the lounge....
the one in each bedroom, dining room, kitchen and bathroom.

I think scotland is alot diff to england/wales when it comes to grants
As for windows your best bet is to ring around Fee, i know that seems blatently obvious  but thats all i can think of. I imagine you'd be looking at 5k or so, my mum and dad had 4 windows, door and french doors for 6k installed and they look nice!

Try Quality Seal for windows - Tel: 01224211243, I've used them for two of my flats and my office.
They use uPVC windows from AC Yule, but are a lot cheaper.
They cost about £300 - £400 a window, probably less if you're needing quite a few.

I'm not sure if there will be specific requirements on the windows that we can put in...I know with my sister's place in town she had to get specific windows and ended up costing £5k for 4....
I'm not sure whether the buildings are listed/partially listed etc
something we can look into in a couple of months though

in terms of windows I had the following
New front door and side glass
4 panel bay window with top openers and bezels
french doors at the back
5 2 panel windows with bezels
and a smaller ensuite window
cost 3k

I had 3 large bay windows fitted(with structural supports) and 1 normal window about 2m x 2m and it cost me £3900, this was best of 3 prices, you can play them off against each other. was origianlly quoted £5k buy same people.
Also had boiler done this yr, supply and fit system boiler and fit thermostatic rad valves to 7 rads £1750. again this was best price, other people i had quote £2800!

Looking at the pics in the other thread Fee and AK...I can imagine there being some sort of stipulation about the style and type of windows u can put in...
It looks like it should be listed...its probably Grade2...deffo not grade1 as the interiors being butchered to turn it into flats...
Local Authority should be able to let you know...
