you get a black box in your car, and you pay per mile you drive

aside from this the govt. can see your exact whereabouts at all times, and exact speed

true - and i reckon it'll encourage uninsured/untaxed drivers so they can't be given one.

Steve, it is a democracy, you were allowed to sign a petition, surely that's good enough?

In a dictatorship, there would have been no petition.

tis all well and good saying 'where gonna put a blackbox in your car'. but its already been proven with roadangels and there equivalent that the signals needed can't actually penetrate the body/windows of a car any way.

i think what steve means is that even though we sign stuff, they never ever seem to actually listen to the public signing the lists carrying on regardless as long as they 'meet their targets' and get some dosh.

anywhere close?

I cant see how they will ever make a reliable black box system, to be fitted to the car they MUST be fused, the fuse must also be serviceable by law.

just fit a blown fuse, go for a drive. simple.

even car manufacturers that develop the most complex immobiliser systems cant make them 100% impossible to bypass. I have managed to bypass the 1997> Vaux immobiliser system with £100 worth of tools and a wiring diagram downloaded off the net, a black box wont be hard to sort out.

Surely they cannot enforce this? Maybe if they started fitting on brand new cars like they did airbags & cats etc but I cant see them making people take there car to get a black box bolted into it, hell if they do they'll be getting told to fuck right off, i'll just keep my 16yr old golf & stick the latest engine in it
