This is one thing that really bugs me about my car, and I cant honestly explain why it even exists. Everyone else ive showed it to has also been boggled. I have a small hole in the wheel arch just behind this panel in the boot area which has been bent back, and the hole which goes straight through to the arch has been fiberglassed over.
Anyone have any idea what it could be? Could it have anything to do with the fact the car ones had 17s which rubbed and some subs in the boot?
There is also evidence of what looks like welding either side further back in the boot but only small dots of the stuff.
Its really getting to me, does anyone have any ideas what it could be and also what I could do about the bent panel and hole. Should I worry about it?

Theres nothing in the history or on the log book to suggest its been involved in an accident.

You wouldn't usually leave a reciept for repair work with the history if you wanted to cover it up though - which most people probably would

True. Anything major would be on the log book though wouldnt it? Cant think what sort of damage it would be anyway because its only really in the wheel arch.

Rear strut brace doesnt fit in the rear as with corsas. You would think if it was rear ended there would be more evidence of damage. Im hoping there is only a single skin on the arch and the hole is where the old alloy rubbed and rusted a hole which was fiberglassed over.

Thats not going to be a wheel that caused that look at the metal its recessed into the car so its not possible

Maybe the wheel had a dodgy camber as its been lowered?

no because if you look if it was the wheel the whole part of the metal would of worn threw, not just that space

If a wheel wore down the inside of an arch it'd make a hell of a noise and would take ages to do it (more likely to wear down the alloy than the steel too!).
Damage only gets recorded on the V5 if it's been written off .

Im not saying the wheel would have rubbed all the way through the arch. The wheel would only have rubbed the paint away to bare metal and over time it would have rusted through and might have been bodged for an mot?

Can see what your saying, but then it's in the recessed part, wouldn't it be on the two parts either side?

I had a hole drilled in my inner arch on the P1 to have a dent removed in the rear quarter. If that makes sense?
Where the dent was, you couldnt get to it any other way, ie/ behined the interior trim or above the wheel, so they had to drill a small hole to be able to get their tool in.
Possibility? Or they could be jig marks?

There is a small dent in the rear quarter where it was apparently reversed into, thats in a different place though and would only really make sense if they removed the door card.

I cant see it having any relation to crash damage, because if it was damaged then they have done a superb job of repairing it, only to leave a gash hole with fiberglass in it which doesnt make sense.
Im having it look at by a company at the weekend who propose to weld the hole over properly and straighten the plate out and weld that back down
