After about 5-6 days on Pistonheads it was sold to the first viewer. I suppose buying the cheapest you can find of a car gets you exactly what you pay for and if I end up with another S2 il be looking more up market for a mintish one, but thats not first on my list.
Watch this space...
As with every car il miss her.
Only until ive got another bitch on the go though

What 8v's have you been driving? The 1.3 peaks at 7.2k as standard, they are very torquey and just pull and pull.

He wasnt a mate as such, just a local guy. I didnt know all the history, just knew it was owned by a load of chavs before I saved it. I never did find out what was going on in the boot. I had it spot welded and sprayed it though and tidied it up. The people didnt look twice at it. It also had some welding in the arches, probably where it had previously rotted. As I said, I got what I paid for.

and 8v sohc will not peak at 7.2k
it will be torquier lower down, but the 16v will pull harder at the top of the revs, that maun advantage of dohc

Thats what Dave Lucky B said anyway. The 16vs are a bit boring with mods, the 8vs sound alot gruntier on bodies aswell apparently, but I like the challenge. There is big debate between the two engines. I favour the 8v in rallyes because its original, and the rarity of rallye appeals to me.

lol theres noway the 8v is as tunable or powerful as the 16v. 200bhp is possible for n/a mods on a 16v you wont see that out of the 8v
i dont particularly care what they sound like, the 16v is 100% a better engine

I'd say an all alloy 8v is a better engine than an iron blocked 16v.
