Picked up this little beast, always wanted a grey corsa gsi..... drives real nice and is great fun too...

Main purpose of the car is abit of fun and for trackdays so any input from folk in the know about whats best and parts etc would also be usefull..

I have what i want to end up with 80% planned out, it will probably end up completely stripped out etc, but for now im quite enjoying it as is.

Gave it a better clean now its stopped raining for more than 30 mins, removed the wheels and cleaned away the 1/2 tonne of break dust from inside the rim, then slapped some paint on the calipers and drums just to smarten it up for the time being.

6 point cage to go in

Bit O progress didnt get chance to sort the rear beam due to mucho rain but here's a pic

so i went an bought some new number plates instead. got the dash home so when it stops raining for more than 1 day ill get that swapped over.

due to not being able to get the steering wheel off without a puller, i stripped it out to trial fit the cage.

and got so much done it ended up staying in there

Got afew loose ends to tie up with the cage probably early next week,

Few cage pics before its pulled out to be painted

and finished the plug cover.. thats the orange the cage is going to be.

and the cambox is done too

.

thats all folks

It's a Ford metallic black, i'm sure the guy that sprayed them said it was Ford metallic Panther black - but don't hold me to that!

its fine, the chassis is nice and stiff now.

more progress tonight

engine rebuild started today.. i have a friend that used to build race engines for a living so im getting top tips on how things are done properly, lots of learning.

Pistons and rods balanced
block cleaned
new bearings
freshly polished crank fitted

Vauxhall gave me the wrong mains cap bolts and some how my new gudgen pin clips (i waited 2 weeks for) have gone walkies so only so much we could do.

cheers folks, the crank is perfecto, you can spin it with just your finger... sooooooo smoooth

found out today that there was a point break in engine supply when they built my calibra, so they used an early block setup thats why i had the wrong main cap bolts.. correct ones are ordered now
