Top work on organising that meet fellas
Funny how non-organisors can still come up with great meets

Granted, but I would far rather these things were done in co-operation with the site. On your own you have no legal support, no insurance and basically no backup if anything goes wrong.
If you want to be active and do stuff then that is fantastic but you should at least make the organisers aware and get either their or my approval.
There is also a framework which we're attempting to put in place which is that meets take place on the first Sunday of each month. This helps members with budgetting, getting time off etc. as they're equally spaced and people can anticipate in advance when they are going to be.
Far easier if its all official IMO.

I appreciate what you're saying Ian, but the official meet for our region is always miles away, so can be difficult to get to.
Next time we do something like this I'll inform Lisa. Would that be a good place to start?
EDIT: To be honest, I wasnt aware that organising through the website could offer any extra protection, I assumed it was just a means of communication, but now I know for next time

They're miles away as thats where the interest is. The stuff in the south of the region historically hasn't done well. That said, no reason why it can't return there.

I thought it was a good meet.. How can the website offer insurance and protection??? I don't understand that bit...
I think it was a nice idea for a couple of lads to put something quickly together as one of those ideas on a whim... it got people together, got them chatting and now we know a few more people off of this 'ere wonderful website.
Not a bad thing at all.... only negative view from an admins side IMO is feeling like your toes have been trud on... in that case, make these guys staff so they can look after us Stokies and nearby counties

In that case Ian can shouldnt there be another organisor for NWNW? For the southern areas?
Tell me its none of my business if you like but NWNW is the largest meet and only has 1 organisor. No offence to Lisa but 20 cars showing up to a 'non organisor' meet is nothing short of incredible, even if two of those cars travelled 200 miles
We did wonder if what we were doing was all above board with concern to the website and legal issues but we all behaved very well.
I'll look forward to your reply.
Pete.

I can see your point, however, if done in accordence with board rules/guidelines then maybe they will work well
