Been looking at a few for sale, but really not sure if to go for one or not. Ive recently only ever owned 1.4s.
how much is a 1.3cdti gona set me back
thought about trying a diesel, am i right in thinking that you can buy a tuning box just to plug into a 1.3 cdti which will then give it 90bhp and lots of torque. which will infact make it faster then a standard 1.4 corsa. is there different stages to the tuning boxes aswell for more performance.
Can you fit a performance exhaust anf induction kit to a diesel and will this add a few more bhp.
what other mods are available for the 1.3
If i was to get a 1.4, i would probably get a induction kit, exhaust, inlet man, remap, which i assume would make it quite fast aswell
CORSA Cs obviously, i forgot to put

I'd have one for a few reasons. Any 1.3CDTi you look at will be a facelift C, which look better imho. They're also great on fuel economy, and I'd have one if I was doing loads of motorway miles etc. Would rather the 1.7CDTi, but the 1.3 is probably a good compromise considering my age (19) etc.
Speak to jr, he has a 1.3CDTi!

A friend of mine had one. It would keep up with my old seat ibiza 1.4 8v which was running 70bhp or so.

I learned to drive in a 1.3 diesel multijet punto, am I right in saying its the same engines?
Car has a fair amount of poke when the turbo kicks in for being a 1.3
And I wouldnt waste time on a tuning box, get a filter, exahust and remap the baby!

Good engines.
I would presonally waste time on a tuning box.
Significantly cheaper than a remap and on this engine I think the main benefit of the remap would be a bit smoother, whether this is worth an extra 300+ quid I don't know.

I used to have one as a company car. Wouldn't have said it was quick, but was nippy around town etc.

Ask Jr, he owns one. His opinion counts for something because he drives his day to day. Anyone else commenting on the car probably owns a 106 GTi.

I've driven one, pokey little cars but lack something above 50mph - rather the 1.7 tbh.
As said, JR drives one, he'd be the best to ask!

Ive heard there is no point in getting the 1.7.
there are 2 people on Corsa C Uk.
one with a tuned 1.7, 120bhp
one with a tuned 1.3 104bhp i think it was.
and they know each other and always race around, they seem to think that the 1.3 keeps up easy as it has quite close power but it is alot lighter. this was coming from the person in the 1.7 aswell

So don't buy a 1.7 because a tuned 1.3 keeps up?
Not very good logic is it.

no , dont buy a 1.7 coz a tuned 1.3 keeps up with a tuned 1.7, apparently.
this is what i have ben told by a few members on corsa C uk

But if you tune the 1.7 the tuned 1.3 won't keep up

no mate im saying that if both tuned the 1.3 keeps up.
these two people on corsa c uk
one having a remapped 1.7, exhaust, air filter
the other having 1.3, remap, exhaust, airfilter
the 1.3 keeps up according to these two guys, coz of the weight diiference. and when remapped the 1.3 gains alot of torque, but apparently the 1.7 torque does not increase as much

right
there "ok" mine is driven quite hard each day, and still gets over 400miles to £35
its well put together, and mine beeing an SXI+ has a nicer interior
be under no illusion, this car is not fast, just nippy enough to not be totally boring
Lupo Sport TDI is a better car

wrong the extra displacement gives a lot more torque, typical cc uk trype. Having driven both i know why i bought a 1.7

Same here, i got myself a 1.7CDTi and its been great so far. Did a long trip in it this weekend (532 miles) and managed it on one tank (the low fuel light only came on at 524 miles). Must be an average of around 55-56 mpg easy. Sure i was sticking to the speed limit but i also never turned my aircon off. Can't complain at that
