My mate just phoned me - he accidently picked up a jerry can with oil in it (thinking it was petrol) and put about 1 litre in his almost empty tank!


He wants a sensible answer off me, but I honestly think even with 40 litres of petrol he will still be pumping smoke out.

he's put 20 litres in so far - said he fired it u p and was fine for 5 minutes


Is off back to get 20 more litres and put it in the car

take the filter out and put the pump on. bin the content and replace the filter. put the new stuff in, jobs a goodun

This happened to me last week, but diesel Just flushed it out with petrol, Oil though... not sure if it'll work with that

The engine will work fine with diluted engine oil in it. It will smoke a lot though.

should of syhponed it out.

only took me 5 minutes to use a syphon pump and get all the petrol out the tank.

so true, once in my student/very poor days i ididnt have enough petrol to get to work, so i thought F'it and syphened (sp) the petrol out my dads strimmer (unleaded pre-mixed with 2 stroke, 25/1)

I then put the 2 stroke mix in my nova and it got me to work all be it abit smokey

I once had no jerry can in my car and ran out of fuel. My m8 pissed in the tank, it mixed and i made it to the petrol station. And filled it tothe brim! Worked tho. And that was a 1.4 16v mpi
