im trying to speed up my laptop by getting rid of programs folders etc that i dont nee, when i opened my windows folder i found looooooads of these any idea what they are and can i delete em?

format is the easiest way, nothing like a clean install

They are the unistall files for alot of the programs you have installed on windows. I wouldn't recommend getting rid of them as it will only be a hassle when you want to remove programs properly from your system.

they are uninstalls for windows updates mate

cheers guys, steve does this mean i cant delete them? i dont want to do a full format yet until iv swapped all the crap from my laptop nto external hdd

yeah but you wont be able to roll back any updates. if you just dont want to see them then turn off view hidden files
