Just heard Alan Smith is signing for Newcastle for £3.5M, seems a good deal for us but I wonder who will be on their way? Hopefully Owen, cant stand the shitbag

I'd like to see Smithy stay at Old Trafford, but it'd be better for him in the long run.

That's a bargain if the figure quoted is corrected especially for an English international moving between 2 English clubs.

I would hope so, £3.5m would be a bargain for Smithy.

For that price you can't go far wrong to be honest, lets face it though Smith is shit in midfield, who ever signs him should make sure he's stuck up front with another striker and he'll most prob bang a fair few in.

He's not a 'great' player but he's a very good 1 and certainly worth more than £3.5 million.

What has Darren Bent done to be quoted at £17 million

good player imo, passionate and given a proper run in a team could do well. Good price too if it goes ahead.

Been up there consistently with the top goal scorers for several seasons whilst beign based at a small club

Smith is indeed average he's a bit of a dirty strong forward who socres now and then and spends most of his time injured...so yeah not bad for boro.
