I know it's not a Corsa, or even a Vauxhall, but
I've always wanted a mk1 Golf GTi, not sure why, just something about them, and one came up when I was selling my car, so I went for it.
It's a 1983 car, unregistered 'til 1986, so it's possibly the only D plate Mk1 in the world
The wheels are 7.5x15 ET25 Ronal LSs with 195/45 tyres, but I'm thinking the tyres are too wide, so I'm going for some 185/45s at some point.
It's had a recent engine service, with new cambelt, and it's only done 115k (which, for a 24 year old car, is pretty damn good)
It needs a few things, so I've already been on a spending spree, and I'll update the post when the bits turn up, and with more pics when I've collected the car.

Very nice car. Smaller tyres and some lowering would be nice. Job done

There's a little more to it than that Ed
I've ordered new rear badges which actually have silver left on them, need to get one for the front.
I don't like the front lip, needs a large duckbill like Paul H's, and I prefer the single lamp grille, so I might do that too.
That and the interior, for which I need a new driver's seat, as the bolster is torn, also needs a new parcel shelf if I'm being fussy.
Then I need some winter wheels as I don't want the Ronals to get fucked with the salt, and some coilovers too.
Then I'm in two minds about the decals on the boot (round the window) and the stripes on the side, I might leave them off as it looks ok now.
So.... not much then

Forgot the silver wears off of them. I remember our MkII had shiney black badges which were a bit gash. I quite like them without the chin on them

It's a little bit of a pain, the badges are quite a lot of money, from England, the back pair (VOLKSWAGEN and Golf GTI) were £95 So I got them from Germany
I think the duckbill is love/hate, if I get one and don't like it, I can sell it on, so it's all good.

looks nice robin, plans sound good
I possibly would change the rear wiper to park flat rather than upright, and some plain plates maybe

Ash, I hadn't even noticed the plates weren't plain Good shout, I'll get some ordered.
As for the wiper, I'm not sure it would sit right if it's flat, might just take it off and have some grommet love
Fro, cheers

VR6? Pah, that's far too heavy
2.0 16v maybe, but not a big lardy VR
Won't be for a while anyway, and I might even go for a G60, if I do change it at all.
