You don't use more fuel. It's just the noise makes you hoof it more often.

Agreed, you keep wanting to hear the roar so you keep putting your foot down more, that's why it eats petrol

That's what I used to think but after running both with an induction kit and without it I can tell you that it won't use anymore than usual.

As suggested before mate, a back box would probably do you the job

Mine wasn't too bad, good noise but it gave my car flat spots, put my airbox back on after I derestriced it and it felt like a new car, pulled so much better and no flat spots

drill the airbox if you want the sound, i had a piperx cone filter on my 1.2 corsa and it had so many flat spots. i drilled the standard airbox, it was louder and the revs wer smooth

I got a k & n induction kit off ebay quite cheap, couldnt afford anything better. Sounds lovely from the inside and nice on the outside but not stupid loud. I also have a back box so that helps. For some reason my fuel seems to last that little bit longer

I suggest a closed induction kit like mine^
I have found this to be best after having standard airbox and open K&N induction kits

Doesnt always use more fuel.........sometimes due to the small amount of extra air there is, the fuel thats there burns more effeciently!

TBH, ive had an open cone heat soke air filter, carbon fiber enclosed filter and standard air box.
best of the lot was the standard air box.
