Been looking at this to get rid of all the shit off my corsa shell.
Looked at these guys http://www.surfaceprocessing.co.uk/?gclid=CNPeyqrajI0CFQPtlAodkRXiPQ
But i've got a feeling that they would charge a fortune for it.
Anyone know much about acid dipping?

i told you about this
Acid dipping is the best BUT you need them to Etch primer the shell for you (as needs dipping) so works out alot of money.
I sand blaster my twin engine shell. i did it myself, took me hours and hour, it was a nightmare job to do as it all flys back at you BUT gives a really good finish. To have a company do this for you it cost about £300

Forgot to say, after any of the 2 you will need all the bodywork sorting, as if they have been any repairs it will show them all up, then a full repaint. So if you can not do this yourself you looking about £1500-2000 ontop.
An you said you only wanted the car as a fast road toy, can you really warrent the best side off £3000 to get your shell cleaned and painted.
You would be better just buying a newer shell.....

Beardy, what did you blast your shell with. Ourblaster did Tom's brother body pannels, Tom only asked them to do the shuts and underside of them because it fucks the pannel up. The did the entire bonnet and he needed a new one because it came back so rough and fucked.

Keith Robinson over on MIG and Novaload is having his shell done as we speak. Not cheap either, but the results should be worth it.

i bought one of these.......
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/30LB-PORTABLE-SAND-BLASTER-SANDBLASTER-SANDBLASTING_W0QQitemZ120137327121QQihZ002QQcategoryZ633QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
And went to B&Q and got about 6 bags of very fine dry silica sand, when on panels i just did not go as close to the panel.
Everything as mint mate, you just primer and paint over the top.
I will add buy a full face mask, suit and gloves as its a really really shit job to do. full shell takes hours

Surface processing are very good. Its the best way for sorting your shell as the e coating gets everywhere after the dip, unlike acid dipping then etch priming. When a shell is dipped in acid it will remove all the protection from inside the chassis legs etc, you will never get that back in there with regular painting so the shell will rot from the inside out. E coating gets everywhere.
Have a look on Migweb at Keith Robinsons nova turbo build in projects. His shell is with them at the moment and he has posted up pics.
