my car started knockin the other day from top end an lost all power, took the head off an found nothin wrong wit the valves an that, but it blew a piece out the head gasket between the 2 pistons like burnt it away. i replaced the head wit a new one today an now it want fire up, also did compresson test an was fine?

cud it be the crank sensor that cud make it fire wrong an knock?????????????

usually the fire ring between 2 cylinders goes between 3 and 4 on these engines. can happen over time with normal wear and tear etc... can be a sign of running lean as well.

yh thats were it was, its usin more fuel, wat cud that be then to solve it

get it tested on a RR to find where and why its running rich

running rich could be a couple of things mine was doing this.partly because the lamba sensor had gone and the nock sensor was unplugged.is your eml light on?

on teh back of the engine under the inlet manifold.its easier to get at from underneath.have you done a fault code test on it?

how did you time it up?using the original marks?or did you check tdc with a screw driver?

you need to check tdc with a screw driver really.don't just rely on the marks.did you empty the hydraulic lifters too?

put a new head that has bin rebuilt an it was clean. wats the knock sensor look like

its just like a plug that had a bolt through the middle of it going on to the block.it would probably still run though.so i doubt it would be that.if i was you i would check the timing then do a fault code test

cant check timing marks by finding tdc with a screwdriver as TDC is about 15-20 degrees out from the timing marks on a c20xe.
