i dont have 1 myself but have pondered the same thing.
for me thought it's
pro's
good laugh with friends
completely different gaming experience than any other console.
price
con's
not many decent games out
would get boring (imo) on your own

Such a laugh
The games that are out are brill
Deffo get drunk and play it
Cons
Move anway from anything that will smash(alreadys smashed a light)
Warm up b4 playing wii sports or you will hurt after a long session)
need space to play

ow er yeah its a great system, its getting a lot more surrport from third party developers who are starting to favour this over the ps3, as theres more money to be made on the wii.
you know cheaper to produce the games ect.
but its a bit dry on the games front at the min but then again so are the other two big consoles.
i have one along with my 360 they go great toghether lol.

well party games are going to be boring on your own, e.g wii sports/play ect.
just the same as single player games are wasted with friends.
zelda and resident evil 4 are awsome on your lonesome.

yes because coming onto a thread were some one has asked for advice and just typing " gimmick" is really helpfull.
but yeah its a gimmick, just like the DS was called when it was released, now its outselling the psp 3-1.
in time the wii will do the same to the ps3.

They're really good fun, the controls are like the Virtual Reality arcade machines from the 80's. Theres nothing else like it at the moment, theres nothing to stop Microsoft and Sony developing their own variations but it will always be comparable to this. Plus at £180 its a decent price, plus you get Wii Sports to get you going.
If you had bought one the other year you probably wouldn't have found a game you liked, I think most games were to show off the controls more than to show what games could work.
The games are looking up now though and Resident Evil 4 is essential, I played it all wiikend (Hehe) Theres 2 Mario games coming out, another Resident Evil, this time like Time Crisis then theres Fifa 08 and Madden NFL. Also theres Scarface and Godfather which are both like GTA. Plus Splinter Cell. Tiger Woods builds on Wii Sports too. Super Smash Brothers is due soon too which may be online.
Its more suited to action/FPS games than car games I think, although there are a few available, Excite Truck, Driver, GT Pro Series.
So far theres only one online game, Mario Charged Strikers, Pokemon Battle Revolution is out soon which is also online.
Theres also the Virtual Console where you can buy and download old Sega and Nintendo games.

They are great fun. When I have some more room I'm going to be getting myself one. It's a novelty, but in terms of design and ideas noveltys are a good thing  They are a refreshing change...

you can surf the internet
download old school games for the NES,SNES,Gamecube ect
send messages to other wiis and email addresses
there is a weather channel, news channel, voting channel
make your own mii and then send it to other people and randomly get other peoples coming over to you
thats before you play the games!!!

Anyway, in repsonse to the thread...
Pro's, you'll have a bollock aching laughter of a time after trying to beat your mates at games. You'll lose weight after flinging your arms around like a disabled monkey. And Its the cheaper of the three main consoles.
Con's, games at the moment aren't great. But, saying that, no games are great for any console.
