Just a quick one but my car is being really weird lately and just deciding to rev randomly, like say when i come to s stop and dip the clutch the revs will just rise to about 3000 rpm and then cut and drop down to idle albeit abit slow.

Then up the hill on the way home it started splutering when i tried to put my foot down in 2nd gear from about 1500rpm.

Has anyone come across this problem before?

Could be coolant temp sensor

i had that problem with my gsi, was due to part of the engine wiring loom earthing on part of the engine.

try cleaning the icv its a common fault on these engines mine did it a while back
