isn't that bad to be honest. I bought my .co.uk (around 4 quid every 2 years, 1and1.co.uk) and a 10 quid a year host (www.i-websolutions.co.uk) and had it up and running within 24hrs

yeah. So say you registered yourname.co.uk or .com then you could have name@yourname.co.uk or .com

usually it'll be working within a few hrs, but they say you should allow 24-48hrs for the domain to filter through the DNS servers.

boro - yea once you have bought a domain you just need to get some hosting and then you can get a personalised email addy, as well as a website etc etc
