hi every1 just a quick one my new sri doesnt have power steering and i will most proberblt be fitting it just was wondering if the pumps and racks and everything are the same on a 16v as they are on an 8v my engine is an 8v.

Rack should be the same, though I think the 16v pump could be slightly different, they pulley on it iirc.

could fit th rack then use an electric pump off someting, or use the epas rack, leccy all the way?

Oh yeah, that too. IIRC, a saxo EPAS pump can be used?

aye can use saxo pump no problems. although i find the steering to be lighter with the saxo pump than it was belt driven style

i would rarther use the old school method i think rack pump resivour etc when attching the pas pump to the engine how do i go about doing that when the engine hasnt had pas from factory will the bracket hols be there ready 'as you can tell i havnt really looked into this'

not rli lots of work to do to set it up a days work really.
my curent car has pas and going to start driving my new car thursday and that doesnt have pas and when i try parking it at work its just a nightmare.
change the rack
fit pump
pipes
resivour
tracking
thats about it i think

power steering = good for parking, wank for ragging it.
non power steering = the opposite way round 
i prefer my nova's steering, i even have a work out with 3 point turns.
