Hi,
As this is my first car iv'e never bought anything for a car before, and this includes speakers. I drive a Corsa B and recently iv felt the need to improve on the 2 stock speakers I have had for the last 3 years.
What Im looking for is to get some speakers for the back, and maybe replace the speakers in the doors if you think that it is worth it. I dont know if I should get 6x9's or standard speakers, I understand that there's only certain speakers that will fit in the front, aswell as needing a special parcel shelf for the speakers in the back.... urgh.... im really fucking confused!
The head unit I have is a Kenwood KDC-W4031 which I got roughly a year ago.
If anyone could help me out or find me some nice speakers that I could buy, or reccomend me some that would be great. Also; I have a local halfords so if I can get them from there thats great but i don't mind ordering online.
Thanks for any help!

Umm I do have a budget but Im not sure what a sensible high end is... £100? Is that too low? I can go higher, its just i dont want to go too overboard on this. I want something that will sound good quiet, but will go loud when needed and still maintain quality.

Hello mate, I have been in your position so I know what it is like lol. First bit of advice is don't buy your audio from Halfords, its stupidly overpriced and usually the customer service is awful. Online sites such as www.caraudiosecurity.com are much fairer priced and helpful.
First of all it is definetly worth upgrading the front speakers in my eyes, I did this and never looked back. Component speakers are good but hassle to fit if you don't know what your doing so I suggest some 13cm co-axial speakers (just the cones). You will then need some plastic adaptors so they fit which cost about £10. You need these so the speakers swap straight over
6x9 speakers are also worth while imo, some people don't like them but they add a good touch of bass and make the sound clear throughout the car with the front speakers. You can put them in your rear parcel shelf or boot its upto you, the parcel shelf being the common option.
If you want any reccomendations for front/rear speakers I can link you to the best ones I've found. And the speaker adaptors if your interested.
Hope that helps

Speaker adaptors: - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUTOLEADS-SAK-3001-VAUXHALL-CORSA-SPEAKER-ADAPTOR-KIT_W0QQitemZ150143883376QQihZ005QQcategoryZ14941QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Front speakers: - http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5647.html
(I have these, great value, loud, very clear)
6x9's: - http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3211.html
(Couldn't fault them, very clear, recommended in plenty of car mags)
So theres everything you need, under £100 as well

Also: I have no means of fitting these 6x9's do i need a new parcel shelf? Is there a site that will teach me how to make one? or a site where i can buy one for the right price?

Post an advert for a parcel shelf in the Classified Ads on this site. Yep they will be fine with the head unit! So find the parcel shelf now, check ebay also.

They are but you can fit up to 17cm with the autoleads adapters (minus the ring plates)

you dont need a special parcel shelf for 6x9s at all
you can cut holes in your existing one, or if your not confident enough get a different one from the scrappy and save your original one
you can use the wires from the rear speakers the car all ready has, they are next to the parcel shelf, pull the wires off and extend them if need be
