If they don't get Tevez i can't see them selling Smith, especially when their other 2 strikers aren't fully fit which only leaves Rooney?

Agree with that to be fair, he is a proven prem player, just not cutting it along side the talent at Old Trafford

Before Rooney came along Smithy was banging the goals in. His leg break and being forced to play in midfield hasn't helped.

He'll do well at Newcastle.

Marc, what do you think United will do if they don't get Tevez? With Rossi and Smith on their way that only leaves them with Rooney, Saha and Solskjaer (sp)... with Rooney being the only fit one atm?

I was saying this today actually. It doesn't leave us much. Frazier Campbell isn't a proven striker and I'm not impressed with Dong Fangzuo.

United have always been more of a strong midfield team, but I think if we don't bring Tevez/anyone in we might struggle if theres any injuries. Ole isn't a striker you start games with imo.

Fergie must have something up his sleeve because he wouldn't sell Smith and Rossi knowing Tevez is 50/50 and Ole is a super sub, which leaves 2 strikers. I can't see him gambling with Campbell and Fangzuo for big games, especially in Europe.

Imagine if Rooney and Saha were both injured... that leaves a choice os Solskjaer, Campell or Fangzuo so start.

Giggs and Ronaldo can play up front if needed but I wouldn't want to rely on that.

This season is going to be so much harder for every team that you need reinforcements.

You're right he can. I'd like to have an out and out striker though instead of using wingers and attacking midfielders.

ye id much prefer a saha rooney / tevez rooney combo, rather than ronaldo, giggs, anderson etc supporting

i would guess though that now weve sold smith that its a sure thing that we are going to sign tevez before the season starts, or before the end of the transfer window at least!!

Why not, Ronaldo scored more goals than most strikers did from deeper? I really don't think United need to be worring about scoring tbh there's goals all over the team.

I meant because I want them playing on the wings. Although I'm yet to see Nani and Anderson play.

Real shame. Smithy was playing really well but the arrival of Rooney and then the leg break were just too much. He's a passionate player though and it would have been nice to hang onto him.
