Well first big game of the season, what are you predictions?
Score?
Team selections?
Gerrard will be playing with a hairline fracture on his toe, and looks like Terry will be back for Chelsea

Liverpool FTW
Prediction:
No idea, but Gerrard will no doubt aggrievate his 'knock' thus ruling him out of the England friendly.

Should be a good test for us this. Did them at Anfield last year with a poor attacking side, so hopefully with the few additions we have we can do it again.
Would rather Drogba wasnt playing for them, but hopefully Essien is out and Terry is only half fit.
Going for a 3-1 win to us. Torres getting two.
Could tell you the team though

he is already out of it. Is playing with it broken on Sun then having 1-2wks rest to let it sort itself out.

He will on Sunday, no doubt some thunderbolt for his first official goal (Russ will enjoy that!).

Typical 1 nil bore type affair imo, Benitez and Mourinho never go all out against one another

Only in the Champions League though, actual league games have more goals in them, at Anfield anyway.

Also i hope McLaren still calls Gerrard up for the friendly as he is well within his rights to. Joke that they should come out and say he can play for us but not England, he should be straining at the leash to play for his country!

Are you having a laugh?
Firstly the England game is a friendly so why would he force an injured player to play. And secondly he has no right to force an injured player to play in any game, if he has a broken toe and we decide to play him we can...England cant!

I find it completely disrespectful Benitez has come out before the game and said 'he can play for us but not England' WITHOUT contacting the FA or McLaren before hand, however much of a cunt he is.
Friendly or not if your fit enough for your club your fit enough for your country.

rubbish. As Matt said, we pay his wages so if we want him to play injured then we pick to do so.
By all means McKnob can pick him and play him...but Im sure we'll make sure his rest period comes during the qualifying games for England.

Doesn't matter who pays his wages, it's happened before, England are within their rights to pick him if he turns up or not is his perogative he's then liable for whatever subsequent punishment/reprieve he faces.

What would happen is McKnob would send the England docs to give their opinion, they would see a broken toe, and therefore couldnt force him to play.
They couldnt make him play with a broken toe and then tell us to rest him another time, cant happen!

Im sure gerrard has been consulted with what is happening, as he wouldnt be told ha will be playing for liverpool he would be asked if he feels up to it etc...
