Anyone any ideas how to get a mod rewrite to process spaces, or at least carry them across as %20

my current rule is

RewriteRule ^showroom/([a-zA-Z0-9\-_.^%20]+)
http://www.vagweb.co.uk/forums/album.php?user=$1 [L,NC]

however i need it to process a space should the link have one, at the moment if there is a space it ignores everything after the space
