right fuck it, i said i wouldnt, but i decided i will. project on car thread part 603. this time, i may add some words in every now and again.
so, the driveway conversion car made 442bhp and 404lb/ft. it ran a 12.3 at 125.9mph, it was going well if anything. somehow managed to enter ten of the best as part of team vauxhall thanks to chip.
then, due to some car breaking on the strip, the proceedings were halted. as i dont let the car run that hot i normally push it in the que on drag strips, just sensible i think.
so theres me and my mate matt pushing it while talking to my mate gary, in the top left of the pic that pair of legs walking belong to carlo off here who is building a corsa turbo. little did we know that from a car running fine 2 minutes earlier, after it being pushed in that picture, a valve guide had decided to crack and find its way into the engine, meaning when the car was started up again, well, it sounded nasty as fuck.
began taking it to bits.
now you wont probably be able to make it out that well but if you look at piston in cylinder 3 can see marks around the edge of it, thanks to the valve guide
so, on to doing some new shit, so far none of it is exciting, but there you go. it cant all be shiney bits and new toys, have to earn the fuckin cash to buy them first......
started making removable slam panel to make life easier, will finish it next week
and yes shock horror, them strengthening plates, car never had them before. you might think thats a bit fucked up, but due to having friends in useful occupations, had checked the car on a jig, and yes, strange as it seems, all of it was still within manufactures specifications. weird or what.
so thats it for now. will add some more pics and shit as other things happen. most of it wont be that excting, but hey, this is the projects section not show and shine pics after all.

Nice one
How much is it lowered at the rear? Even though you dont care about looks, it still looks ace
What spec is the engine at now? Or is it a secret?
Quite surprising that, shell still perfect, even with all that torque going through it. Would need some work on a nova to achieve that, seen the bay being torn away at the bulkhead with a standard XE

Looks a lot smarter than I imagined it to, most of the time its jacked up with butchered bumper!
You must take the engine out once a week!

fair play to you Muppet, all the money and time you put into building this engine must be worth it running that sort of power

block on stand, will give it a wipe over cant be fucked to waste time painting it
piston nice and a bit fucked. fuck all damage to the block which is odd, but rather nice to know. crank spins well nice and free, them lumps on side of piston will have been the tight spot it had, add that and the bits mashing into the head says it all. all the bearings are bang on, so pretty much aint touching no crank, just change pistons and some other bits and fire the fucker back in the bay ready to measure and cut bits of metal if needed.
