If the conversion is done well then surely there is no reason for it to be any less reliable than it was in the standard calli or whatever car it came from

If its just taken from a 120k calibra, straight into a corsa, then no, its not going to be reliable.

If its done properly, full rebuild, and all put together correctly, all done to a high standard, and kept maintained, then it will be reliable.

Some get lucky and get a really good engine without having to rebuild, but as they get older, they really do need a rebuild now.

some people fit a 130k mile 20xe engine, do over 30k in it, sell it, it gets sold a few more times and clocks now read 67k more than when engine was fitted and it still runs mint.

Aye, some can be lucky, theres still some damn good engines out there still.

If I was doing it, id do a rebuild, just to be safe, save on any future possible problems.

i reckon any engines fine if your not giving them death all the time. I say a short rag every other day does it fine Check coolant, oil, look for leaks keep it ifne and dandy, replace gaskets every now and then jobs a winner.

Imk keeping mine and having a rebuild after uni That'll be in........ 2011!!!
