If I take the ariel off of my roof, what shape is the hole that is left behind? Will a simple rubber gromet fill it?

do you mean the whole ariel thing meaning its flush with the roof or just the ariel?

I mean taking the whole unit out. Similar to if you remove the rear wiper unit?
