Seems a little petty. A few krispy kreme's for them!

Can someone explain to me why having the letter moved from the left to the right matters?

Can they do you for that? How ever you read it, its still got the same letters and numbers in the right order?

Its not unfair at all.
You're supposed to have it spaced correctly etc.

You hear it all the time. Police are seriously cracking down on it, apparently for their recognition system.

That sucks, I know its the law but it seems harsh. It's only spacing

Fair enough if its small or silly writing you cant read but a space in the wrong place

its so that all the cameras and number plate recognition sytems can read them to prevent people driving around with no tax insurance etc

the law is the law, just got to take it on the chin and learn from your mistake

i got a producer when my plates were a different font, however they did say if i had got out of my car and been cocky they would have given me a thirty pound fine.

i think its up to the cop whether they enforce the 30 pound fine, its a bit harsh if you ask me seeing as you had the correct font aswell

that can't be true, if they're on their own and can't get out of their car then how are they going to talk to you? bearing in mind you aren't obliged to get out of your car

If the size & font were wrong then fair enough but one letter not quite in the right place seems a bit of an over reaction IMO
