If I wanted to upgrade from a premium to an elite, would there be any implications regarding my gamertag and saved games on my premiums hard drive?

my friend traded his in at gamestation, they let him keep his hard drive until he got everythin off it, he ordered one of these http://www.engadget.com/2007/04/26/xbox-360-hard-drive-transfer-kit-hands-on/
then he just takes his hard drive to game station and gets some money for it

To keep the save games you will need to keep your hard drive from your premium coinsole.
You can retrieve your gamertag online once connected to xbox live.

Looks pretty straight forward, what kind of deal did he get on his trade in?
I take it that lead transfers all the data including gamertag info? I have my credit card registered to my gamertag for buying points, live subscription etc, how would I go about wiping my gamertag off old xbox and putting it onto the new one?

erm i think if u transfered everythin and the nformatted the 20gb one should be safe
i believe gamestation are 160 guaranteed, u get 130 and then another 30 when u take the hard drive in

What about if I have things like head sets, and I have about 5 games I could trade in too! They'd do a deal on that wouldnt they!

what do u mean by head sets? the 160 is just the xbox, leads, 1 controller, basiclly what comes in the box. so games add more yeah

other places like blockbuster give the same money but gamestation let u do the hard drive thing though

One last question you mentioned formatting the hd to get rid of all my info, how do you do that?
Also, will I have to re-subscribe to live?

ure liv account info is stored online, so u just retrieve it if its not done when u transfer data accross.
format can be done in xbox menu somewhere i think
