its pitch black and the wiper arm is not off yet !!!!!

well ive found out its a 25mm grommet i need.

Also, has anyone had any rusting problems around it ?

It is a pretty common place for them to go tatty, same as under the corners of the spoilers, they are the 2 things that go on the tailgate.

yes you are right however are you talking about with a grommet fitted or does it get tatty with the wiper arm too. i havent looked at min tbh

In theory, it should last longer with the wiper arm & motor removed, because there is less area for the water to sit etc.
