Because thats how coil packs work? They dont have any mechanical drive of the engine, it just gets a signal from the ecu telling it to spark when it is needed which is normally off a crank sensor. If its wasted spark as well then two will fire at the same time as it will only get two signals to fire.

its not a distributor, its a coil pack, why does it have an uprated one, possibly because its a turbo, and either the standard one isnt up to the job, or cant run on aftermarket managment
