they will not be able to blanket ban performance exhausts as it would simply cripple companies such as exhausts uk etc and they would no longer be able to trade.

i can see a decibel test being brought in for an MOT test though, or modified exhausts having to meet an approval standard like the TUV regs in Germany.

I think that when somone from the Government reads that statement from the petition creator they will forget all about this ban and think they need to invest more money into education.

without wanting to hijack the thread why did they say it is illegal?

imo it cant happen, far to much of a financial problem with the loss of trade, jobs, income 9and with it tax) and will force "boy racers" to look at other mods....inlet/exhaust manifolds for eg first

'Boy racers'! Dickheads who know nothing nor give a shite for real car enthusiasts come up with this crap. Its like saying, ban fishing rods they are dangerous, I wouldnt give a crap cos its of no interest to me but to someone else its their passion so fair play. Obviously some old fuck with too much time on his hands came up with this.

Would be quite funny to beat the hell out of a standard exhaust and remove all the baffles, ultimately making it louder than a modified one lol.

It wouldn't be funny because you would have modified the exhaust from it's standard spec thus making it illegal.

if you live by a road you live by a road dont complain about the noise.

I live in the middle of nowhere but i can still hear every single car etc on the road half a mile away because its so quiet. Who care's, sometimes its funny because some sound like really shite drivers in the wrong gears

Anyway my point is i think you should get done for a loud exhaust if your sat there revving the fook out of it doing naff all, but if your driving and its loud its ok. There was actually something on a bike forum for harleys etc with exhausts that rattle windows and it aplies to them.
