We are looking to buy a recovery truck to ship the skyboat around as its too much of a pain in the ass to drive on public roads now :/
I used my range rover and hired trailors in the past but didnt really like relying on others and the costs soon mount up. Esp with the ful on the V8 LOL
anyway... recovery trucks.... talk to me
What size do you think i'd need for a skyline? I'm not looking to spend too much! Under 5k!
Would a skyline fit on one of those standard flat bed transit pickup things?
Typical small recovery trucks are what? 15ft long by 6ft wide it it?
The skyline is 4545mm(14.9ft) long and 1755(5.8ft) wide - too tight?

It's quite a length to go to just because its tricky to drive on a public road! I'd save my money and put up with a rough ride...

its not because its tricky to drive on a public road.... its because it a pain in the ass.
If we are travelling to Brands Hatch.... do you suggest driving a car with no sound deadning, no room for spares, competing in TimeAttack, then driving back up again - if its still works ...
It has no sound deadning (inside, roof, floors, engine, bulk heads)
Its very hot inside
It has 700lb springs
It tram lines like a coke addict on a cistern
It is very crampt
the seats and harnesses (no padding and 6 point crotch straps) are not very long trip friendly.
.... tricky.....

why not find an old horsemoving thing, would have a ramp and would just need the parts taking off and powdercoating to keep neat and tidy

Ebay
Something like this will be ideal, hopefully been kept quite clean, could use some of the sleeping compartment as well and if you were to fit an awning you would be a proper little race team

parts taken off and powercoating??? a bit random...
I see where your comign from but i think a horse box is going to be way too narrow. Unless its just a truck thats been turned into a horse box, that may as well mean just gettign a covered truck (no need to powder coat things :boggle)
My car is about 6ft wide
