just a quick question... what is the biggest size of brake disks that i can use with 1.2 8v calipes?

reason i'm asking is that i'm thinking about getting alloys, and i saw a 1.2 8v with 15' and the disks really looked small. at the next service (next month or so) I need to change the disks anyway.

240mm which is the standard size. You cannot increase the swept radius without spacing the carriers out which is pointless with other options out there.

Basically, what he's sayin is bin them for bigger brakes.

2.0 16v Brakes from an Astra, Cav or Calibra. Straight swap, discs, calipers and carriers (Scrappy or LMF)

Vectra V6 - Same as above apart form you need re-drilled discs (LMF)

Then you've got willwoods and stuff like that. Then your getting into a bit more money though.

so best way to do it is to change the whole set up right? rather than 2.0 16v brakes, I was thinking about 1.6 16v... what measurement are the latter please?

Yep, 256x20.

2.0 brakes are 256x24, but are much better than 1.6 brakes
