get an 8800GT. that are faster than the GTS in most areas but the AA lets the 8800GT down a litte, dropping to ust below the 8800GTS

i will be getting an idential system to my bro who has a 8800GTS and im getting a GT, i will let you know of the outcome if you can wait a week or so.

Just get the new version of the GTS which is faster again than the GT as is built using the same updated specs as the GT.

Nah, thats one of the older spec'd cards, you'd be better just OC a normal GT.

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?ZOT-88GT5A
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?XFX-88GT5A

Both of those have, on paper, fast specs.

Memory on the GTS is better (640MB compared to the 512MB), but from what Ive seen in comaprisons online this doesnt really matter after you take into account the number of stream processors the GT has compared to the GTS.

Ah right, I get you. I thought you meant save £50 and get one, not save £50 more and get one.

The 'new' GTS do not have the same specs has the GT. The 'new' GTS is still a G80 core, they just turned on one of the part that had been turned off from the GTX.

The GT uses a G92 core. While this is very heavily G80 based it contains better texture performance over the G80 core, as well as lower power usage.

The 'new' GTS is probabaly quicker than a GT, but its doesnt contain the core enchancements of the G92.

If it was me i'd get a cheaper GTX though.

Cool, have you any links to the specs of the 'new' GTS cards?

I read a little snippet a while back in a magazine about the GT and its specs, and mentioned about a newer upgraded GTS to put it above the GT again. Thats all Ive seen though so wouldnt mind seeing some specs.

I would go with a GT mate.

Hardware reviews ahve shown them to be better than the GTS but cheaper.

The second one in standard form is here... http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=GCX-XN88GT512&af=50 for £170 if you fancied OC it yourself. The full specs of the OC are on that other site where it isnt available so shouldnt be too hard as think its only a basic overclock from what I can see.
