Probably what caused him to drink. Feeling the pressure of wasting £18m each on two light weights, an overpriced ex-Spurs player and a Canadian Aswell as the thought of spending £30m on a midget Argentinian mutant.

No doubt about it, but saying that costing £30m you'd expect him to.

I know, Im only joking really. Both still have a lot to prove, but seem to be doing fairly well considering the pressure their price tag must of put on them.

Not really, he has been with us for a year now, and has been one of the top 3 players during that time. He has nothing to prove to Liverpool fans who have watched him.

Well he was singed in Jan, which was more my point, cleared to play in Feb. Has played in a CL final for us, having a great game, so not someone I would call a new signing who needs to prove anything such as someone who has only played 10-15 games for us in total.

£17m payable over 5 yrs (£3.4m a year to save you the hassle!) which includes all, or part of, his wages payable by MSI which allows them to have first option should we want to sell him.

Thats from a reliable source (same guy who broke the news of the takeover, Torres deal, leaked pics of the new stadium, etc.), MSI want his buyon rights from what I can tell so thats why they are doing it like this. And the £30m was quoted when you first signed him. But was also quoted in a few places at the weekend, saying you've spent £10m to have him on loan for 2yrs, and then the option of spending £20m ontop for him fulltime.

still have to love all the speculation, these clubs are privately owned now, so whatever comes out into the press may not be true.
Although in most cases it is true, no-one can ever be sure

No, I know that. And the specualtion that comes out is always a broad range (one paper said we signed Torres for £19m, another said £26.5m) so always have to take it with a pinch of salt.
I know what this guy tells me though is more or less dead on the money. Im not sure who his sources inside the club are, but everything he has ever told me in the past has been correct and a fair amount before it actually happens.

is this why liverpool fans always take the lowest speculated price they have paid for a player as gospel, ie the torres price
Seems to be a different story at United, the highest speculated price stands (as i don't actually know the prices we paid for all our players)

The Torres price is, as Hammer would put it, common knowledge. Plus this guy, who broke the story of him signing before any website did, posted it up on the forums including all the details of the fee and contract
