OK so I know this can be done but how woudl you go about it? I have a nice Sony Midi HiFi and an iPod and I want to be able to connect my iPod to the stereo without payign some blaggers £100... how?

It'll sound better if anything because you're amping it through a proper stereo with speakers, etc.
You'll still need to control the track from the iPod tho. I'm guessing a £100 kit will allow you to control the iPod through your stereo, as if it was a seperate.

Yeah, but cheaper.
Only thing I'd say is...sometimes you get what you pay for.
I'd maybe shell out £10 for some decent phono leads personally. I got some cracking gold ones from Curry's.
Basically, all you're looking for is "3.5mm Jack to 2 x RCA"

I'm assuming your stereo has the RCA inputs on the back tho, with it being a 'midi' you might not. Although, with it being Sony i'm guessing it will have.

Usually you'll have two lots of red & white, two in, two out.

OK when you select what you want on your stereo (i.e. CD, Tuner, Tape) does it have an additional one like "EXT" or External. Something like that...
If it does, then they're most certainly inputs.
