are they a good idea?

What about betting on one match, or betting on the score, or 1st scorer etc?

what do you find most effective?

An accumulater consists of 4 or more matches being picked. All have to win for you to get a return. The stakes are higher but so is the risk. Usually one team will let you down, you can get lucky though.

Betting on one match has lower odds. Top to beat bottom for example will hardly return anything. You're best picking a risky match, but not say bottom to beat top as its highly unlikely.

I usually do singles and doubles. Don't win big but over the season you win a fair bit.
