i went from a mud called abandoned codex to warcraft, same kind of thing but the prior is all text based and you type what you want to do, i.e you would type kill, kick, punch etc.. pretty geeky,
but yeah i played warcraft after and it was epic! combined everything from what i had previously played into a visual form

Please for the love of god stay away from WoW!!!
Honestly, I'm a addict and I can't stop playing it, as I type this I'm logged on and flying from one destination to another so minimised it to read here, when I land I'll be off doing some questing.
it's for geeks, it's addictive and it will envelop your life - please don't get hooked like I did!
Time to go - the healing hands of my priest are needed

Exactly the same with my brother. He's started thinking up excuses to tell his mates when they ring/call round so that he can squeeze in a few extra hours on it. I don't see the attraction personally.

None of my mates really play on it and I've not tried it to be honest.
I am addicted to COD4 and browsing forums though.

Im playing for free on a private server. THey accept donations and in return offer rewards (items/gold etc).
The servers economy is actually really good considering, and not many people donate. I now have a 70 rogue with Warglaive of Azzinoth and Warglaive of Azzinoth (with mongoose and executioner, not to mention a tier 6 raid set!

Is that through work and running Black Temple or is it from donations made to the server and having a GM give them to you?

You make a donation (weapons cost me about £6 each) and the GMs hand them over.
the server is very good imo, 3x the XP in retail servers so you level quicker etc. all bosses drop ALL items too.
the server is emulated and is getting more and more stable by the week (might see 1/2 5 minute reboots).

I used to love WoW.. ne shadow priest.
then I stopped playing it for awhile. Bought myself a 360, played that for ages. One of my mates tried getting me back into WoW, installed it on my PC, played it for about fifteen minutes, laughed a lot then switched it off, what a load of Crap it is.

So for arguments sake - you paid £50 for full T6 and BT endgame weapons?

And does the game play exactly the same as "normal" servers? Same content and updates the same as in the Blizzards ones?
