a have autogauges fitted in ma car and bought a sandwich plate , the place a got it from said a needed a unf 3/4 16 plate but this is wrong wot is the size of the tread cheers

get yourself a thread gague of ebay or if you got a tap and die set it will ahve one in there.
that will tell you the pitch, for actual size get internal verniar gague and measure it. most probably a 8mm bolt hole

What XE is it? 1.4, 1.6 or 2L? If its a 2L then you dont need a sandwich plate anyway, are you measuring pressure or temperature? My oil temp sender was 1/8th taper BSP
