What's that 'click here to watch all about? I just watched some kid smash his car in 15 seconds.
I'll be up for this later.

what I'm saying is... when we're actually racing will that link show us racing? - that's pretty cool (tho I doubt anyone would want to watch!)
But currently it's showing nothing, but a 15 sec clip.

feel im gonna have to get used to other set ups though as il struggle to get much less than high .9's

nice one jas, 1.10 isn't too shabby... Once you are in the 1.09's / 1.08's your pretty much on pace to be competetive in the races on most servers.
You've made me realise the learning curve LFS has - well to drive quickly and be competitive / on the pace.
Me and Chris both are constantly making adjustments to the wheel / to the pedals that we're not actually thinking about or realise we're doing. Infact a lot of it is pre empting something that may happen.
For example, on exiting the bend and feeding in the throttle, you are expecting the car to want to oversteer / spin, so the wheel is already being turned back out / giving slight correction to balance the car.
You'll get there mate, as Chris said it's probably not the best car to learn the game with. The Single Seater's are all quite unforgiving... They generally grip grip grip, then let go... So once it's gone it's hard to control the slide / recover and keep racing.
I set a new pb literally couple of laps after chris left (and he'd watched me make a right mess of it).
1: 06.45! Previous was 1: 06.6. That new pb has a first split time of 31.41 secs.
To achieve that low first split time, the car has to have low downforce and high pressures, to allow the top end speed to be carried down the main straight and after the first bend. The first bend also has to be nailed spot on.
Joke is, only after tonight I actually noticed how often my car (with my setup) is actually 'spinning' - like the car's basically lost control or through my throttle it's losing it, but I'm already balancing it with steering movement / throttle adjustment and it just becomes part of the lap
Will be good to see you in the 1 min 08's Jas.

one thing i think you might have a roblem with is the fact you only get a low FPS..
cant be good for smoothness. i run it at about 300fps drops to about 90 in a full grid of 38 ppl if im at the back. .and that is with ALL y high quality upgrades.

yeh bloody hell only 18 FPS when doing those donuts I imagine it gets pretty choppy when your on a full grid.

Just had a first go on the demo using keyboard and mouse, really enjoyed it actually. Eventually managed to do a few laps sticking to the right lines and was getting better and better times.
Any recommendations on a decent, cheapish wheel (£30/40ish)?

normally the FPS drops in smok so it might of been that..
but normally the lower the FPS the harder it is to drive because your missing lots of information on the screen

and demo players are generally twats
Driving Force Pro for the win! its what I've got.
http://www.itstuff.eu/customer/home/logitech+driving+force+wheel-p-606/
£58!! Bargain
900 degree's of rotation, great force feedback - good pedals!
I'd say the majority of players are using DFP or G25 (a lot more expensive).
Thing is - imo you'll never be quick with keys / mouse... you just can't get the level of control over the throttle / brake - even if u can master the mouse control.

Hmm, not sure if I want to spend the best part of £60 and maybe not use it, but all the other wheels look shit and cheap..............not sure..........
And isn't it still a bit unrealistic to not have a clutch pedal?

not really that bad to be honest the only time you need a clutch is when you spin a single seater coz they will stall unless you press the clutch.. a button would work fine tho.
i have a G25.. 170 when i got it, they are shit loads more now
